Summary
In a visual task of discrimination between Spatial Sinusoidal Patterns as well as a not sinusoidal grating, evoked potencials were recorded bipolarly from six simmetric areas. Computer generated transient stimuli were kept steady not flickering during one second. Averaging was performed and afterwards was calculated the power spectrum of evoked responses. Choosing as indicador variables the amplitude of ten frequency components of the power spectrum of the transient evoked response, significat distinctions between pattern evoked brain responses were found in the left temporal anterior-temporal posterior and in the left temporal posterior-occipotal bipolar recordings, respectively. The differences which were found are very probably not due only to selective attention, or to motor decision-making, but rather, to pattern recognition, may it be due to conscious or else unconscious «inferences» from experimental subjects.
