Detections of periodic waveforms in visual ERPs related with decision-making

In a series of preliminary notes we reported results concerning the study of Visual Event Related Potentials evoked by stationary patterns generated on a TV screen. Some relationships which may help us in the understanding of «Preparadness Potentials» or «Bereitschaft» Potentials were analysed. Furthermore we found significant correlates between Perceptions as well as an interpretation of logical Decision-Making (Unconscious Inferences) and patterns of components of the power spectrum obtained from the averaging of brain potentials by means of using D.F.T. One of us implemented an algorithm for the detection of the waveforms of the possible periodic components of ERPs and EEG. We show, as another preliminary result, that the difference between a signal evoked by the same spatial sinusoid in a situation in which subjects should react to the stimulus pressing a switch with their hand, differ significantly if the condition was one in which attention should be paid to a stimulus, but no movement was required — using as indicators the peak to peak amplitude of periodic waveforms detected using an algorithm proposed by Y. W. Lee.
